Some slot machines, no matter how good they are, do alienate gamers with their theme and not always because it’s risqué. In the case of the Miss Kitty slot, a very cutesy theme runs the risk of doing just that, which is a shame as in many ways this is an extremely playable slot. Not only is the game play good, the slot is superbly well optimised for online play, especially on mobile devices. It has the 50-line structure and a very similar game engine to 50 Dragons, it’s just much better produced online.

Personally a theme like Miss Kitty has is never going to drag me away from the likes of the Choy Sun Doa slot game, which is by far Aristocrats most popular online slot title. That said, I can confess a few guilty spins on this slot from time to time. The 50-line structure offers so many ways to win on this 5x4 reel game that it’s hard not to find the base game play entertaining. This is a good thing as although there is a decent hit ratio, the stock game only really exists as a vehicle for hitting the bonus free spins round where the win potential lies.

For three of the moon scatters, you get 10 free spins, which might not seem like much until you see how the wild symbol effect has changed from the base game. In the bonus round the wild symbols become sticky, remaining in place for the remainder of the spins. It’s easy to see how, with this mechanic, big screens of wilds can be accumulated by the end of the spins round, constantly building anticipation with each spin. Not only that, there is a re-trigger, hit it and you are almost guaranteed a spins feature which is going to pay way upwards of 100x your line bet.

Whilst the minimum bet of just 0.50 credits might indicate this game is low roller friendly, I’d recommend something like Texas Tea party instead if bankroll management is a concern. Despite the cartoon appeal, Miss Kitty is a medium variance slot, and only just qualifies for the higher end of that moniker. This cat has some sharp claws on a bad day and you shouldn’t let the high RTP fool you into thinking this is a safe bet.

Each of the big manufacturers has a cat theme d slot, IGT have Cats, WMS have OMG Kittens, etc. People are either cat people or dog people and I can clearly see why these themes draw people in. Miss Kitty wins big in terms of its playability and the fact it’s a real gambling game, it loses out slightly that many might feel the theme is just too cutesy, especially the audio which is sickeningly sweet for my tastes - though I concede there is a mute button, which is what keeps me popping back for an occasional spin or 20.
