Playtech's feature-rich The Mummy slot is pretty slick to look at and certainly has enough to keep you watching but,
as with most big-name branded licences it is built for entertainment primarily and the trade-off is that big wins
are rarer.
The Mummy is the first game that Playtech have produced which requires a player to unlock features. We've seen the concept
before on games like Microgaming's Thunderstruck 2 game and Immortal Romance which both
have 4 features. The Mummy has no less than 8 (randomly awarded) features which are unlocked slightly more easily. I'm not going to bore you
with what each feature does but you'll find free spins, random and sticky wilds, expanding wilds and more.
The game definitely looks the part. Like another big movie slot from Playtech, Kong, the
game borrows heavily from the movie and graphics and sounds along with video sequences all add up to produce a decent
enough spectacle. The only thing is, if you are like mw, once you have gotten over the eye-candy, it all comes down to game
play and personally I like a slot game that gives me some big wins.
Of course, that also means higher variance and unlike a lot of slots online, The Mummy
definitely isn't a volatile game so it will appeal more to those players that are happy to aim for modest profits as long
as they get a decent session from the games.
As you may have gathered, that's not my style personally but that doesn't make The Mummy a bad slot game - far from it in fact and
it wouldn't be here on OCV if it wasn't a good game. It's built for entertainment - and does a good job of it. It's not built to
make you a milionaire :)
