About Battleship Search & Destroy
The Battleship Search & Destroy slot is an online-only IGT slot and is
surprisingly in my opinion among the least played games of all the online slots at OCV.
OK, so I'll admit it will never compare in popularity to games like the Cleopatra slots or
Davinci Diamonds but I'd
still have expected Battleship to do better. What do I know eh. It pretty much sank without trace :)
The Battleship slot is based on the game of the same name and while different to the old land-based slot
you may have encountered has similarities in that its
is a 5 reel, 25 payline slot with a choice of 2 bonus rounds. Like IGT's
Pharaohs Fortune slot, the bonus is triggerred by
getting the Bonus symbol on reels 1, 2 and 3 on a played payline and gives you
two choices. You can choose to "Sink The Fleet", which is just like the traditional
Battleships game, or you can go for the "Winning Encounter" free spins bonus.
The free spins bonus has a twist. The spins keep going until your Battleship is
destroyed. Basically, the last 2 reels have symbols that include a small red torpedo,
or a blue one. Every time a blue one appears, your multiplier increases by x1, up to a
maximum of 5x. Every time a red torpedo appears, your Battleship takes a hit and when you
are hit 5 times, you "sink" - meaning the free spins come to an end.
It's a very entertaining slot IMO and is available at a number of online casinos
that are powered by Wagerworks/IGT software, although newer IGT offerings like the
Kitty Glitter slot and the popular
Treasures of Troy rather put Battleship to shame IMO.
